UP2 Solutions is making strides to conserve energy and better our environment. By using computer technology and resources wisely, UP2 is becoming more energy efficient while using renewable resources in a sustainable manner. The following are some of the ways UP2 is becoming "GREEN":

Use Efficient Servers: 
Power-efficient Servers are currently being used to efficiently power and cool data centers. By utilizing the standby mode on the servers, power demand is lowered significantly. 

Virtualize: 
By combining and virtualizing servers, the demand for energy and hardware is substantially decreased. Virtualization lowers energy consumption while reducing the amount of equipment needed. Virtualization also allows a single computer to run multiple operating systems and applications, as opposed to old x86 computer hardware. 

Buy Energy Star Compliant Systems: 
Energy Star-certified equipment is being purchased to replace inefficient equipment. 

Use Sleep Mode: 
Monitors, Printers, and Servers are all enabled to use sleep mode to conserve energy as well. Machines are set up to automatically revert to sleep mode after not being used for a significant amount of time. 

Enable Remote Access: 
UP2 utilizes remote access tools, making it possible to work from home and to lower carbon dioxide emissions for commuters. 

Virtual Meetings: 
In an attempt to lower costs and emissions, UP2 promotes web-based meetings and communication. As an international company, web-based meetings are essential to reduce travel. 

Flat Screen: 
At UP2, outdated CRT monitors are being replaced with energy efficient LCD flat-screen monitors. 

Power Management Settings: 
User power management settings are being implemented by management and staff to encourage energy efficiency at work and at home.

Recycle: 
UP2 believes in reusing and recycling materials when possible. This includes everything from printer cartridges, paper, plastic, glass to water bottles. Recycling containers are conveniently located in and around ISHIR office to make recycling easy and accessible. 

Dispose Responsibly: 
Old equipment unable to be recycled is disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
